‘WCVA – Birth Partner Project’
The Birth Partner Project is a charity who provide support to women seeking sanctuary who would otherwise face pregnancy, labour, and motherhood alone. Since the launch of their organisation in 2016, their volunteer birth partners have supported 73 refugee and asylum-seeking women in their motherhood.
“Being a single mother without having anybody around is so difficult. But since I got in touch with them, I don’t need to worry about anything because I have so many families there.”
From 24-hour support during labour, to regular home visits for 8 weeks after birth, The Birth Partner Project are on a mission to ensure no women face birth alone.
“The love was so massive, I don’t know how to express it. They mean a lot to me.”
We were commissioned by WCVA (Welsh Council for Voluntary Action) – to produce a short video documenting the amazing work The Birth Project do, for Welsh Charities Week 2024.
Here’s what Emily Roux, Director of The Birth Partner project had to say:
“You were a pleasure to work with, thank you for so sensitively capturing some special moments for this incredible video published last week!”
